The American
Beacon Funds are a series of low cost, open-end mutual
funds designed to support a spectrum of investment objectives. The
Funds include several portfolios spanning a variety of longer-range
investments from international and domestic equity through balanced
portfolios. They also include short term investment options including
the Intermediate Bond Fund, the Short-Term Bond Fund and money
market funds.
The American
Beacon Funds, with $14.0 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2009, were created in July 1987 by American Beacon Advisors,
Inc.
The American
Beacon Funds utilize a "manager of managers" approach
for balanced and equity portfolios. American Beacon Advisors serves
as the leader of a team of premier investment advisory firms, working
closely with these sub-advisers and monitoring them for performance
and strict adherence to investment style and guidelines. The American
Beacon Intermediate Bond Fund is co-managed with Barrow Hanley Mewhinney
& Strauss, Inc. and the Short-Term Bond Fund and money
market funds are managed solely by American Beacon Advisors.

The American
Beacon Select Fund shares
are offered to institutional investors, including: corporate
cash accounts, sweep accounts and other institutional investors
who meet the initial investment requirements. An initial investment
of at least $1 million is required for the Money Market Select
Fund. The U.S. Government Money Market Select Fund has an initial
investment requirement of $1 million. |
